Jeffrey Novak One Man Band - Think I reviewed this guy a while back on a couple of cdr's he sent me...but I was flipping through some recent mailings and I ran across the 7" released a while back on fistful of records. Comparisons to the late Hasil "the Hunch" Adkins are inevitable, but Jeffrey does it in a spirt all his own and at a speed that if the Hunch comparison was accurate it would be Hasil at Mach 10. I love the mania captured on this lofi recording. Jeffrey wails and screams and spits and moans with a fervor that must speak to his local roots in Tennessee. The songs on here are fuckin' great. "Down", "Don't Wanna Live ALone", "Get Out". "Rockin' Horse". Drop your guitar tabs and your music sheets, this stuff eminates right from the soul. If you like BBQ or Ape City R & B, then this shit is surely for you...
